about

The second part of the Convergence set of pieces, part 2 is designed to be a prelude in format, though not necessarily in function. Here I take some ideas from pieces I composed a very long time ago, specifically repeated left-hand slurs on the guitar, and bring them into the Zul mode and aesthetic. I use two electric guitars playing quick sets of slurs as a rhythmic and harmonic drone (though, like my other pieces, they slowly morph and change with time), then overlay them with slow-moving relaxed chords. This also provides a good setup for the guitar improvisations within the piece. The piece begins in a D-major area and slowly transitions to A minor, holding the rhythm and texture steady.
